CBC: Canada Votes 2011. If you missed the leaders' debate from last night, watch it here. I thought the format was quite good, allowing for some interesting one on one exchanges between Harper and Ignatieff, Layton and Ignatieff, etc. Consensus seems to be that this was not much of a game changer; judge for yourselves.

The Globe: We’re taking on the mainstream media!” Kory Teneycke declared the other day as a dozen people from the mainstream media earnestly scribbled notes. “We’re taking on smug, condescending, often irrelevant journalism. We’re taking on political correctness. We will not be a state broadcaster offering boring news by bureaucrats, for elites, and paid for by taxpayers. It seems to me that Brown was just telling it like it is, but he is being punished for it.

The Globe: The Victoria Police Department is investigating its own officers after a violent arrest was caught on camera and posted to YouTube. Police spokesman Sgt. Grant Hamilton says officers responded to a fight involving eight males early Sunday morning. He says when police arrived on the scene, they found one man being kicked in the head and ended up taking six others into custody. But the 56-second YouTube clip appears to show one officer repeatedly kicking a man who's already been restrained.
CBC: the At Issue Panel took questions from people all over Canada. All hail Chantal Hebert.
